The standard emphasizes clear, consistent signage, including the use of photoluminescent materials for enhanced visibility during emergencies.
Glow in the Dark materials each comply with a recognised class of luminosity based on how long the sign remains glowing in a dark environment after having received a full charge. The higher the materials luminance capacity, the longer the sign will remain bright in low light conditions. Some glow ratings are non-compliant to certain requirements under ISO 16069 requirements as they don’t meet the minimum standards, so be sure to select the correct luminosity grade for your requirements:
